'Toilet Talk' Was Newsletter to Be Read on the Can - Southern Vermont College Dorms

Topics of the day included the Southern Vermont College fire extinguisher policy and Spring Break dorm policy.
In a pre-smart phone era, SVC students caught up with campus news during their most vulnerable moments.
College students are a busy cohort, so the SVC Residence Life Department developed an ingenious way of keeping students up to date on campus happenings - post a newsletter directly opposite the toilet! This publication dates back to the early 2000's, before the era of smartphones and tablets.

Back in those simpler times, students could sit on the throne and do their business without any distractions - making Toilet Talk the perfect opportunity for the Residence Director to convey important information to on-campus students.

The SVC fire extinguisher policy was a hot topic of the day, as were the spring break housing guidelines. Students were tempted by free food and phone calls if they volunteered for a Phone-a-thon.

While publications such as Toilet Talk are probably a thing of the past in our high-tech world, it's nice to reminisce about those relaxed college days at the foot of Mt. Anthony, when the evening's most important decision was Bud Light or Busch.
