Southern Vermont College (Bennington) 2002 Alpha Chi Vermont Delta Induction Ceremony

 

Vermont Delta Chapter number 351 was installed at SVC in 1999.

SVC was home to a chapter of the Alpha Chi honor society, and this flyer from 2002 details the new member induction ceremony.

Alpha Chi had the support of SVC faculty and administration.

SVC faculty members were known to bend over backwards for their students, so it comes as no surprise that Professors Greg Winterhalter, Holly Madison, and John Damino served as Vermont Delta Chapter 351 sponsors. Southern Vermont College President Barbara Sirvis was a guest of honor, as the chapter sought to recognize her unrelenting devotion to the success of SVC and its students. Zen Buddhis Priest and Professor Thomas Redden conduction the invocation.

2001-2002 Alpha Chi Vermont Delta inductees were Sarah E. Crowley, Daniel P. Dix, Ronald B. Harding, Jr., Joanne S. Holly, Kyle J. Johnson, Cindy L. Palmer, Kay M. Philpott, Denise A. Pierce, Tiffany S. Plaggemeier, Sarah T. Reif, Noriko M. Rush, and Theresa J. Wright.

2001-2002 Alpha Chi Officers were:

Dora Cecchini - Treasurer.

SVC staff and administration were recognized for their 'support, organization, music, and research.'

Alpha Chi Vermont Delta thanked SVC administration and staff members President Barbara P. Sirvis, Linda Baccki, Jennifer Callender, Alan Whitcomb, and Marion Whiteford for their 'support, organization, music, and research.'

The final part of the flyer details Alpha Chi's mission. 'Alpha Chi is a coeducational academic honor society. Since 1922, its purpose has been to promote academic excellence and exemplary character among college and university students and to honor those who achieve such distinction.'
